A Wonderful Year: pretty china, vintage-inspired weddings and lots of styling..

A Wonderful Year...

(Cath and Russ, Midland Hotel wedding, September 2012: Photos by Tobiah Tayo)

2012 has been an amazing year for Itsy Bitsy Vintage. Launched as a small part time business by two friends wishing to add something creative to their already busy lives and existing work commitments, we never imagined that we would have such interest in our services. Offering vintage china, bunting, props hire and vintage styling services for wedding couples and party enthusiasts, we've had a wonderful year meeting some incredible people and helping to create so many unique parties and celebrations. Be it a baby naming ceremony, a birthday or anniversary celebration or our many brides and grooms, we've played our part in each of these days and helped to create memories which will be treasured a life time. Thank you to each of you for trusting us with your special days.

So here's a toast to all our special clients in 2012 for making Itsy's first year such a happy one, and to Johnny Bean, photographer extraordinaire, website wizz, cook, comforter and all round good guy, without whose help and hard work Itsy Bitsy wouldn't have launched or succeeded this year.

We look forward to working for many more of you in 2013, and helping to create an individual look for your special day and celebration. No two parties are ever the same but you can trust that we'll provide the same care and attention that we've given to all our happy folk this year.

With the confidence of some great testimonials under our belt, we're looking forward to embracing new challenges and jobs in 2013. We've especially enjoyed working with the Midland Hotel and look forward to many more styling jobs there including already a prohibition themed wedding in Spring. We also look forward to working again at the Castle Inn in Hornby,  a simply exquisite small hotel for weddings and parties, at Carnforth Station Heritage Centre, home to the film 'Brief Encounter', and within the many individual village halls which grace our county.

Pretty winter decor and vintage styling

Itsy Bitsy Vintage are currently busy with some Autumnal wedding jobs but nonetheless Xmas will be fast upon us. We have one post Xmas wedding that we're currently preparing for so have plenty to keep us on our toes. With an expanding range of props, we can now offer a full setting up and styling service including of course all our lovely china table settings. We are taking more styling enquiries than ever before and we really love to work with clients to build a unique vintage inspired themed celebration.

Xmas and winter themed celebrations are some of the prettiest of all. We love all the glamour of lustre ware china and gold glazes, the twinkle of crystal vases, shining silver coffee sets, decorative silver trays and of course a beautiful range of silver decorative cutlery including cake slices, serving knives, sugar spoons and tongs, mother of pearl handled butter knives and jam spoons. These look stunning displayed in small glass vases or in our selection of decorative pewter vessels. Mix that with white roses and anemones, vintage lace and doilies, and a few vintage props including an old type writer, a bowler hat, a few vintage baubles and bindings, and you truly have a magical tablescape.

Please enjoy these images we've prepared for you and we hope that they inspire you a little. Don't hesitate to enquire about our ever growing selection of stock to hire. We offer free client meetings on china and prop orders above £150 for those of you also wishing to use our styling services. We can make available to view a personally tailored selection of stock in the comfort of our homes.

Everything stops for tea: Vintage tea parties and styling.

My ever wonderful husband, Johnny Bean of Beanphoto took this little film of one of our special china cupboards earlier in the year as a fun aside during a photoshoot. Didn't he do well and isn't this cupboard pretty?  It lives at Itsy Bitsy Carole's house and is home to some of our china collection mixed in with a number of heirlooms from Carole's grandmother Peggy. I'm sure Peggy would approve of having her pretty things immortalised in film!

Carole and I are now expanding our collection of props for styling vintage parties. We're increasingly getting asked for period and vintage items for hire, as well as being asked to set up and style parties and weddings. This can range from styling table place settings through to an entire room including ceremony, cake and guest tables, designing and creating centrepieces and decorating chairs. We can also re-style your room from day to night and can be hired to work throughout your event. With a beautiful and authentic vintage collection  including vintage suitcases, vintage type writers, vintage cameras, vintage accessories, bindings, and many more, we have something to transform any party room. We're so much more than just china hire! Please click on our 'Styling and props hire' tab at the top of this page to view our current range and photos of styled jobs.

We also hope, in the New Year,  to be able to offer for hire a vintage dressing up box and a vintage inspired photo booth for dressing up and photo fun in partnership with Beanphoto. Follow us on Facebook for up to date news of props and stock to hire.

Thank you for visiting!

Afternoon tea and a wedding inspiration shoot, Castle Inn, Hornby.

Itsy Bitsy Vintage were kindly invited by the newly opened Castle Inn in Hornby to decorate their party room back in May this year.  This stunning set of pictures show what a gorgeous Inn this is for any number of celebrations, be it the Bistro for an afternoon tea, or the party room for a larger occasion. The Inn boasts the most beautiful rooms to stay in on a B&B basis (we couldn't help ourselves from going 'Ahhh' when we saw them!) and the entire place can be hired for a wedding.

Johnny Bean of Beanphoto took these stunning photos of our pretty bunting, vintage china settings, centrepieces and vintage props. With an eclectic mix of dark beams, open brick work and huge chandeliers, the party room lends itself perfectly to a little vintage Va Va Voom and country vintage chic. A very posh barn indeed!  Many thanks too go to Rebecca and her Mum from Butterfly Bridal in Lancaster for the loan of a gorgeous lace wedding dress and wedding shoes. The dress was heavily embellished with crystals and appliqued flowers and chosen to match the opulence of the textiles and chandelier in the bridal suite. All jewellery used was from the costume jewellery collection at the Vintage Boudoir where you can buy or hire beautiful jewellery perfect for a vintage occasion.  Afternoon tea including finger sandwiches, scones, cream cakes and all petite fours courtesy of  the Castle Inn chef .

The Lancaster district boasts a whole host of wonderful venues for parties and celebrations. We've enjoyed working a wide range of  weddings and parties in village halls and community venues this Spring & Summer, and a very elegant Midland Hotel Wedding only a week ago. Small Hotels and Inns offer yet another alternative, providing both an intimate and elegant setting suitable for smaller groups of guests.  Itsy Bitsy Vintage can be hired either on a styling or DIY basis for all your party needs, and can transform a room into something both exquisite and fun.
