Happy New Year! Saying goodbye to an amazing 2014 and moving ahead in 2015.

2014 saw another big year for Itsy Bitsy Vintage, with big parties, big events, big celebrations of my own ( I turned 50, my Mum turned 80 and my son turned 18!) and big changes closer to home. June 2014 saw me relocate to the seaside town of Morecambe with my family where we couldn't be happier, and at the start of September I said goodbye to my talented business partner Carole as she pursues her academic career. I am now the excited sole owner of Itsy Bitsy Vintage!

(Enjoying the summer sunshine of Morecambe!)

The year saw Itsy style several new and prestigious venues including the amazing Monument in Williamson's Park, Lancaster, as well as some pretty new village halls and community venues in Lancashire and Cumbria.

Our relationship with the Nice Bar and Restaurant at the Storey Institute in Lancaster and the Midland Hotel Morecambe remain cemented as we worked the annual Mothers Day Vintage afternoon tea weekend, and the Vintage by the Sea Festival where we once again designed and styled themed centrepieces for the 1930's Torch Club Ball. Wow, what a weekend of vintage festivities that was!

Both Carole and myself loved meeting so many lovely people over the year and working with our fantastic wedding clients to create a vintage vision and feel to their big day. Our jobs ranged from simple china, prop and bunting hires for DIY weddings, baby showers and christening parties through to much larger styling commissions whereby we worked closely with our clients over the course of a year and really got to know our couples well.

The year ahead will see Itsy once again enjoy styling weddings and the friendly staff at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe (now a local for both deliciously brewed cappachinos and the odd cocktail or two!) as well as working unusual eco buildings such as Forrest Hills in Lancaster, and travelling further afield to style some wonderful heritage buildings across Lancashire and Cumbria. We also have several 2016 bookings in place so as always don't delay in securing the popular services of Itsy Bitsy Vintage.

The Vintage Look  is set to continue in popularity for the next few years, and shows no sign of abating in the wedding press and blogging world. With a growth in personalised and more loosely themed casual celebrations, why not mix up your love of different periods and style? Be eclectic and daring in your choices. Blend cat suits with tweed suits, tipis with vintage china and disco balls .

Outdoor celebrations and licensed barns herald a growth in rustic country vintage, and I love the increasingly colourful more retro feel, with 1960's mini dresses, 1970's wide brimmed hats, small intimate parties in your favourite bar or restaurant or larger weekend festivals in a glamping field with mobile bars, food trucks, outdoor generators and electric guitars. In my book anything goes as long as it makes you happy and reflects who you are as a couple.
