Glorious vintage afternoon teas and summer garden parties with Itsy Bitsy Vintage

Itsy Bitsy Vintage remain busy this summer with the hire of our pretty china table ware, with colourful vintage teapots and cake stands designed to turn your teatime and tea party treats from simply nice to incredible Ahhh's! What's not to love about a girlie afternoon tea party under the shade of parasols and bunting?  And the trend for vintage afternoon tea parties for weddings continues apace with plenty of bookings for this summer season and 2014! We've been hiring props and china to lots of lovely clients over the last few months to help create their wedding day vision of vintage loveliness and we've continued our working relationship with the Nice Bar and Restaurant in providing china for another Vintage Afternoon tea held in June.

We're proud to be working with Katherine Bevington of Bevington's Catering for those of you who like the ease of a complete afternoon package. You provide the venue, we provide the china and food to excite friends and family members alike. Food and china packages range from £12.00 - £16.00 a head. Below are images from a recent photo shoot we did with Katherine in the wonderful setting of  an Itsy Bitsy back garden. We couldn't have been luckier with the weather and the abundance of colourful  flowers, and Jonathan Bean Photography did a wonderful job of capturing the food before it wilted and melted in the heat. Our new range of bonny bunting in country floral lifted the entire scene and once again confirms itself as an essential finishing touch to any party.

As stylists we had fun matching our pretty pastel table cloths with our pastel coloured china, a look you can replicate for your own tea parties.

Many thanks to our models Eleanor, Martha and Alison. It was great of them to donate their time but since Katherine's food tastes great they didn't take much convincing! Thanks also to Carole and Stuart for tending such a beautiful garden.

There are many ways to use vintage china at a tea party.  Our bride and groom Aaron & Hayley chose to simply hire our china and do it themselves buffet style. The teacups look great stacked as do the plates, and give guests the fun of choosing their own favourite combinations. As always our turquoise china remains a firm favourite. They were delighted with the china we chose for them and we were lucky enough to have these photos courtesy of their wedding photographer, Jonathan Bean Photography! Many thanks also to Phil Black from Tall Order photography, who as second photographer for the day, ensured he captured all these lovely details.

Another lovely tea party was held for a neighbour in celebration of her Mum's 60th birthday, this time in the modest and very affordable setting of the Friends Meeting House in Lancaster. With borrowed linen, borrowed bunting, Itsy Bitsy china and cake stands, garden flowers and some of the best home baking I've seen by family and friends, the room was transformed into an utterly charming setting for a wonderful and very warm event. I was lucky enough to be a guest and so I experienced our china at first hand, and can testify to what we all know, that everything tastes nicer off china.

Whilst the sun promises to continue to shine through into September, we also get to enjoy the Midland Hotel 80th Anniversary celebrations with the festival 'Vintage by the Sea' on September 14th. Curated by the international design duo and local boy Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway,  Itsy Bitsy Vintage have the pleasure and pride (we're really rather chuffed) to be styling the dining tables for the Torchlight Ball dinner.

We can't wait to be working this day alongside some of the best individuals from the local and national vintage scene in music, dance, photography, fashion and styling. This promises to be an incredible day. Stay in touch with us via our facebook page www.facebook.com/ItsyBitsyVintage as more events and activities are announced as part of this festival or follow the festival directly on https://www.facebook.com/TheVintageFestival  or www.facebook.com/themidlandmorecambe. We know of several exciting activities but are keeping Mum for now, suffice to stay there will be something for every vintage lover from the 1930's through to the 1970's. Bookings are still being taken for a special afternoon tea (two sittings) with period dance tuition so don't hesitate to get your tickets now!

So we hope we've provided you with Afternoon Tea inspiration, and pointed you in the direction of some local afternoon tea events and suppliers available to book in this heavenly weather. Whether you wish to use the services of a caterer, are using the in-house services of a restaurant or hotel, or are a baker yourself,   please contact us with any of your china, props or styling needs, we're here to help provide those essential Oooohs and Aaaahs.

"Hello Itsy Bitsy Vintage! How can we help?"
